Inspired by this kooky 80’s jacket I picked up today!
Aishazamm and I are embarking on a pretty wild and crazy project soon, that will culminate in us working together in New Jersey next year. Super excited, we have so much planned!
So apart from Michael Jackson and Eddie Van Halen being my two favourite people, they also both grew up in California pretty much around the corner from each other. Wonder if Michael ever dropped into a Van Halen gig out of interest? This is probably my favourite era for both of them, around 1978. So many exciting things happening in both of their careers, literally both on the edge of superstardom!

I want to make this jacket so bad. it will be shiny and sparkly and I can wear it to roller discos in my head.
Because lately people have been reminding me about a few “facts of life”.
Well I went from art blocked to….making this? I was listening to Backstreet Boys on spotify, and then I was thinking how much their stuff sounded like SCREAM (which had already been out a good four or so years before stuff like Larger Than Life came out), and then I listened to SCREAM on repeat 10….20….30 times.
Also therapeutic to do this because it’s about four years since I last drew SCREAM. I think I’ve improved just a liiiiittle bit, haha!

Maybe a little too obsessed with 80’s power rock.
Today I found out that the McDonalds on the main street of Sydney used to be a roller disco in the 70’s. Talk about a serious downgrade.
