Well I went from art blocked to….making this? I was listening to Backstreet Boys on spotify, and then I was thinking how much their stuff sounded like SCREAM (which had already been out a good four or so years before stuff like Larger Than Life came out), and then I listened to SCREAM on repeat 10….20….30 times.
Also therapeutic to do this because it’s about four years since I last drew SCREAM. I think I’ve improved just a liiiiittle bit, haha!
Back to my old tablet; I can’t deal with that new technology. Too much at once! And I think I got myself out of this weird art slump I’ve been in too.
Thank you to everyone that replied to my last post, I’m taking that all into account when I have enough money to get an intuos - if I’m gonna upgrade properly, I might as well go the whole slog!
Anywho, here’s some Austin Brown….I think. And some JoyRich sunflower pants because I want a pair so bad.
New tablet help!
Hey guys,
I’ve had my old Wacom Graphire 4 now for about six years, and although I love it to pieces I’ve decided that I probably need to join the modern world and upgrade. I’ve used a bamboo before at uni and I quite liked it, so I bought one and now….I really don’t like it. It’s rough and requires so much pressure that my wrist is already cramping!
Should I just go and get the intuos instead? What are you guys using out there? I miss the soft feel of my old tablet!
Any and all advice is really welcome!!

Finally joined this decade and got a new tablet; I’ve had my old Wacom Graphire 4 since I was 16! Anywho, all this pen pressure sensitivity is freaking me out. I think it’s gonna take a bit to get used to.

Dear Mr. Van Halen,
I really like your clothes. If you still for some reason own any item in this masterpiece above, I think you should dig it out of your closet and bring it back. So far you are the only man I have seen who’s been able to pull off floral-printed oxfords with stripey socks. This is an incredible feat.
Much admiration and respect,
Rhea.

I just wanted to say that you are an incredible artist. I could see your illustrations in a graphic novel, on television, in the New Yorker -- anywhere. If you're not already famous, you should be. [Note: Wildfox brought me to your page.] All the best-- x
Oh wow, thank you so much!! I’m definitely aiming to get myself out there in as many ways as possible; working for the New Yorker would be a dream job for sure!

It’s not even clever, I know. But just how I feel right now in a lot of aspects of my life.
