I want to make this jacket so bad. it will be shiny and sparkly and I can wear it to roller discos in my head.
Gotcha! I think it’s more just something that you learn by experimentation and looking at other people’s artwork. This is gonna sound a bit lame and cliche, but my favourite thing to do is when I’m on the bus home, I look up at the sky and try to pick out the colours that make up the gradient, and what kind of mood/atmosphere it creates. Pay attention to life around you and you’ll start getting the “right” colours!
I’m not sure I’d know how, haha! My technique is so scattered and all over the place, there really isn’t a “set” way that I do anything. Do you mean tutorials on colour/specific things?
Because lately people have been reminding me about a few “facts of life”.
Because I really do like that tiger-striped shirt he wears in the video.
The very awesome MsStylez, a good friend of mine from over the seas in the UK! Go check out her candy-coloured stuff, she’s a bit retro like me with some modern culture thrown in: http://msstylez.blogspot.com
If you don’t know Bei BadGirl yet, your life is yet to be complete. The most amazing thing about this woman is that she graduated from the same university as me!
She turned out a little Dolly Parton, but considering how much I love her too I don’t think that’s a bad thing.
Paula Abdul because she is fabulous.
Well I went from art blocked to….making this? I was listening to Backstreet Boys on spotify, and then I was thinking how much their stuff sounded like SCREAM (which had already been out a good four or so years before stuff like Larger Than Life came out), and then I listened to SCREAM on repeat 10….20….30 times.
Also therapeutic to do this because it’s about four years since I last drew SCREAM. I think I’ve improved just a liiiiittle bit, haha!
Back to my old tablet; I can’t deal with that new technology. Too much at once! And I think I got myself out of this weird art slump I’ve been in too.
Thank you to everyone that replied to my last post, I’m taking that all into account when I have enough money to get an intuos - if I’m gonna upgrade properly, I might as well go the whole slog!
Anywho, here’s some Austin Brown….I think. And some JoyRich sunflower pants because I want a pair so bad.
