Just found your tumblr through a reblog of the Thriller illustration which is amazing. Unfortunately it didn't link back to you D: so I'm really glad you sign your art with your Tumblr user name or it'd have been hell finding you. I added a link back in my reblog for what it's worth. But I just wanted to say I love your style!
Oh thank you so much! Unfortunately people right click and save and then repost artwork to their own blog, even of I put my signature on my artwork…but at. Least if people get curious it’s on there and they can find me eventually!
Hey there! Just gained another follower out of me! :) Just wanted to ask, how did you go about starting to draw shoes and feet? One of the problems I have at the moment, just thought I would ask for some advice. xx
Hey hey thank you for the follow man!
The best thing you can do for sure is draw from life and draw from reference! Find a whole heap of images of feet/shoes and just draw what you see, that’s how you get good at drawing anything really. Just practice practice practice! The best thing of course is to go to a life drawing session (usually they hold them in community halls or something like that and they’re super cheap, about 5 bucks a session!) and focus in on the model’s feet.
I’m still entirely craptacular at drawing shoes though, I think there’s a real art to it especially drawing specific types of shoes and brands. Definitely for shoes you need to have them in front of you or a photo handy when you’re drawing them, because how you remember the details is often not how they really are!
I know this is a bit cliche but I was always scribbling away as a kid, haha! But I didn’t start to consciously make an effort to get better until I was about 16 and going through a big obsession with Disney!
i know that i don't follow you for a long time but i just spend some time looking through your blog and art and i must say that you gained a new fan of it - i love (i think the term envy describes it better) your art and your style! :)
Oh man, thank you! I know how it feels to be envious…sometimes I look through some tumblrs of artists I love and I basically feel like giving up haha!
I hate tooting my own horn, but a good friend of mine from Europe runs an awesome style blog and I recently sat down with her (well sat down on my own plastic chair in front of my computer) for a quick interview, in which I mostly embarrassed myself and tried to be cool:
